Third Annual Kayak & Canoe Race
Join in the fun of the Third Annual Withlacoochee Wilderness Kayak & Canoe
Race and Rally,9:30AM, Saturday, March 19th. Hosted by Withlacoochee Area Residents,
Inc., all proceeds will help fund the efforts of the organization to protect and preserve
Florida’s Nature Coast and its’ water sources for the benefit of everyone.
The By-Pass Spillway Park located off CR 40 in Inglis will be the launch site for an
exciting trip down the river. The Race and River Rally will both start at the Inglis By Pass
Spillway of the Withlacoochee River and head west. The River Rally will travel approxi-
mately 5 miles and end at the Winding River Park in Yankeetown. The Racers will pass the
park and continue approximately one mile to the Yankeetown Marina, turn around and head
back to the Winding River Park, making an approximate7 mile trek.
Registration fees (recreational class only) received before March 12th are $35 canoe -
$25 kayak - $35 tandem kayak. Any entries after March 12th will be at the launch site only
(8am-9am) and are - $40 canoe - $30 kayak - $40 tandem kayak. These fees include entry,
race t-shirt (guaranteed only for pre-registration), fruit, water and catered lunch.

Creation Seminar
Inglis First Baptist Church will host a creation seminar on Saturday March 5th and
Sunday March 6th. 6p.m. to 8p.m. on Saturday and 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m., 6p.m.-8p.m. on
Sunday. The guest speaker is Steve Levinson. All are welcome. For more information call

Inglis Candidates Forum
The following community event for the Town of Inglis – Recreation Advisory
Board (RABAC) will sponsor an upcoming event “Meet the Candidates” moderated by
Drinda Merritt and will be held at the Town Center on Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 2:00
p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend this event and meet the candidates, ask
questions and discuss issues of concern with the candidates running for election on March
15, 2011. Coffee and cookies will be served.
