As of last week, the governor's office had received 27 applicants for the two county
commission seats, which pay an annual salary of $33,419. The replacements will be appointed
by the governor and will serve for an unknown period of time, depending on the outcome of
the trial. Applicants include: Ted Asbell, Sunshine Baynard, David Bibby, Abraham Blitch,
Lannie Cardona, Ivan Chubb, Roger Crossman, Wilbur Dean, Noel Desmond, Darryl Dia-
mond, Marsha Drew, Brad Etheridge, Charles Gilbert, Harold Imgrund, Michael Joyner, David
Leach, Robert Lowyns, Al Macri, Thomas Mashburn, Walton McJordan, Jim Petrovich, Frank
Pitts, William Jack Screws, Donna Sharp, Jenny Shuster, Robert Studstill and Michael White.
A seat on the Levy County School Board was also vacated in November when Billy
Morrison resigned following an October indecent exposure charge by campus police at Santa
Fe College in Gainesville. Gov. Crist will also appoint a candidate to this position, which pays
$26,317 per year and will be up for election in 2010. As of last week, the governor's office had
received 15 applicants for this position: Cameron Asbell, James Billings, Jack Cowart, Donald
Frazer, William Goess, Eddie Hatch, Ada Marie Keeton, Jason Kennedy, John Myers, Warren
Parkin, Sylvia Rutledge, Wesley Sache, Jenny Shuster, Dr. Juanita Terrell and David White.
A spokesperson from the governor's office stated that the positions will likely be
appointed by the governor within 30 days.
Inglis PD Arrest Two On Drug Charges
Two Brooksville women were arrested by the Inglis Police Department, Jan. 24,
following a traffic stop by a deputy with the Levy County Sheriff's Office. According to the
