There's A Time and
Place, This Isn't It
It’s been a while since I penned any-
thing for the Squawk Box. Mostly due to
me being a FEMA Disaster Assistance
Employee (DAE) and being gone to help
people in real disasters who need real
help - most recently helping with the Hai-
tian relief effort.
As a photographer, I am forced
by my job to look at the death and de-
struction, there’s no looking away from
it or ignoring the misery, it is my job to
capture it for the National Archives of our
great country for all time’s sake.
So, what I am about to say
comes with great bias. You might even
want to just turn now to the Food Ranch
ads, because it won’t get any better from
here.
I’ve seen communities ravaged
by wind, rain, flooding and more, with
every unkind natural and man-made dev-
astation you can imagine… and some you
can’t even imagine.

Contrary to urban myth, fruit producing olive trees can be grown in Florida and the many thousands of olive trees growing right here in our
