A Guest Commentary by Darryl Diamond
Would you like a home with a view?
A small group of friends in Inglis get together every month or so. Through
this social club I’m proud to have a few friends at the fire department. In their
discussions of why they enjoy being local firefighters the usual reasons of
"helping people", "service to the community", and "funds an occasional night
out for the family" are given.
However one reason was not expected. It was that the night calls give
them an opportunity to observe Inglis’ outstanding view of our moon, stars,
and planets without the lights, and pollution of a big city. Inglis fire Chief Phil Sprinkle, and his
side kick Cleve recently said to me that they feel the sky over Inglis on a clear night is really
pretty. These gentleman want me to inform you that a great website to help you study the
night sky is www.skyandtelescope.com. This is just another slant on why the nature coast is
so fantastic.
This past week Jerry Lemp of Coastal Carting, and I were talking when he reminded
me about the full moon with meteor showers that night. He was right the falling starts were
quite frequent, but my good friend Jerry still won’t give me his football picks. If you would like
a home with a "great view", there are many great homes in all price ranges now available on
acreage and on Lake Rousseau, far from the bright lights, with great night views.
This weeks special is a cozy solid lake front home with boat dock for Only $225,000.-
