Pet Meals on Wheels Holiday Food Drive
Pet Patrol
Citrus county’s Home Delivered Meals program has an associated program for the
pets of those homebound persons who need help in getting meals for themselves. Not only
the people, but the pets of those people, need a hand in getting proper nutrition. So the Pets
Meals on Wheels program delivers meals to the person’s pet too.
There is currently a need for donation of dog food, cat food and cat litter for these
Home Delivered Meals clients, and interested citizens and businesses can donate at a number
of locations. The donations can be dropped off at any local senior center or at the Citrus
Animal Services facility near the Inverness Airport behind the fairgrounds.
Donations can be made at the East Citrus Community Center at 9907 east State Road
44, the Central Citrus Community Center at 2804 Marc Knighton Court in Lecanto, The Inverness
Community Center at 1082 N. Paul Drive, the West Citrus Community Center at 8940 W.
Veterans Drive in Homosassa and the Annie Johnson Senior Center in South Dunnellon. For
more information call Nancy Leitz at 527-5975.
