The  Friends  of  The  Withlacoochee  Gulf  Preserve  are  in  the  final  month  of 
One Voice.  Let’s not forget those that gave their lives but let’s also remember those living

Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve (WGP) in the Town of Yankeetown. The WGP is a unique 
preserve  that  protects  the  natural  salt  marsh  estuary,  hammocks,  wetlands  and  uplands 
which represent the original coastland of the Nature Coast.
 
This  three  story  4500  square  foot  educational  center  building  has  been  under 
renovation to change it from a home to a premier educational center with educational re-
sources, visual displays and meeting rooms. A grant by the Felburn Foundation started the
renovation.  The building drive has benefited from $50,000 in donations and allocations by 
the town of Yankeetown. Approximately $10,000 more has been committed from various 
sources.  The last $15,000 is needed for the final phase of construction that will allow for 
occupancy of the building

Shop ‘til you drop on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am-1pm and Thursday
5-7pm before Bingo.  A reminder that the Thrift Store will be closed for two weeks over the 
holidays to give our volunteers a much needed rest.   We’ll be back on Tuesday, January 4, 
2011 for your shopping pleasure.

Bring the kids to join the fun at Parson Church in Yankeetown On Sat. Dec. 18th from 
9:00 - 12:00. They will enjoy music, story time, cookies, crafts and decorating the Christmas

Inglis Amvets Hopeful of Being Open Saturday
 
AmVets Post #447 in Inglis is hopeful of being  open on Saturday, Dec. 18th at 
11:00 A.M. The post will be in its new home on Hwy 40 east of Inglis and is awaiting the
transfer of its liquor license to the new location. Call 447-4473 to find out if they are open.
