Youth charged as adult for attempted,
premeditated murder
Jacob Eugene Hoover, 17, 538 W. Barrymore Dr., Beverly Hills, was charged as an
adult after an incident on Oct. 19 at a residence in Beverly Hills. The original arrest report
stated that a 17 year-old girl was home alone at a W. Learwood Place residence around 3:00
a.m., when Hoover allegedly shot out a window, entered the home and told the girl she was
either going to have sex wit him or he was going to rape her. The girl stated that Hoover
struck her twice on her face, drug her by her hair down a hallway and stabbed her on her
shoulder. She pleaded with him, and he left, but threatened to kill her if she called law en-
forcement. Hoover was located later and taken into custody. The report stated that Hoover
told detectives he’d gone to the residence with the intention of killing the girl, but changed
his mind after assaulting her. He was charged with premeditated attempted murder, armed
burglary, sexual battery of a person 12 years-old or older and kidnapping with a firearm. He
was held without bond.
He was originally taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Ocala, but trans-
ferred to the Citrus County Detention Facility in Lecanto.
