You may have become aware of
Public Notices requesting information on
the Florida Panther, posted in the area of
Yankeetown/Inglis. The sole purposes of
the request is to document the existence
of this endangered animal and to protect
it’s habitat from the probable destructive
operation of the Kings Road Mining (Tar-
mac) operation. Someone is passing the
false story that the purpose for gathering
this documentation is to stop hunting.
That folks is a total falsehood
or in common terms, a lie. The people
involved in this survey are long term, lo-
cal citizens who many of you may know.
Every one of the people involved in this
operation, is a hunter, woodsman and out-
doorsman. I have hunted my property for
the past thirty years and Mr. Hugh (Son-
ny) Arnold has been a life long hunter.
Furthermore, in every habitat where there
is a population of panther, hunting is al-
lowed and that includes south Florida.
