A crash in Homosassa at 10:50 am, Nov. 12,
man, 86 year-old Charles C. Wilson. The crash took place on County Road 490 (W. Homo-
sassa Trail) at W. Rosedale Dr.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Mr. Wilson was driving a 2002 Chevro-
let Cavalier, traveling north on W. Rosedale Dr. approaching County Rd. 490 (West Homo-
sassa Trail).
The other vehicle involved in the crash, a 2000 Honda motorcycle driven by 66
year-old John Robert Barbour, also of Homosassa, was traveling east on County Rd. 490,
approaching W. Rosedale Dr.
Mr. Wilson, in the car, stopped at the stop sign on W. Rosedale Dr., then made a
left turn onto County Rd. 490, directly into the path of Mr. Barbour (on the motorcycle). As
a result, the front of the motorcycle struck the left side of the car, which came to rest, facing
southbound on the shoulder, while the motorcycle came to rest, facing north on County Rd.
490.
Mr. Wilson was transported to Bayonet Regional Medical Center in Hudson, Flori-
da for treatment of his injuries. He expired from his injuries, while still hospitalized, on Nov.
13. The report stated that Mr. Wilson was wearing a seatbelt. His passenger was 72 year-old
Doris Louise Wilson of Homosassa Springs, who was transported to Seven Rivers Regional
Medical Center in Crystal River with minor injuries. Ms Wilson was also wearing a seatbelt,
according to the report.
Mr. Barbour was also transported to Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center, but
