Chalk s driver s license photo, plus a booking photo of him from Sept. 18 were
located, and Chalk was positively identified by several people as the suspect in the Circle K
surveillance video. Detectives contacted Chalk and his girlfriend at his uncle s home located
at 3928 S. Delard Way. His uncle allowed detectives to come inside and speak with Chalk.
Chalk s girlfriend, Stephanie Hodge, admitted that she drove Chalk to the Circle
K located on Ozello Trail and Highway 19. She said she parked the vehicle behind the store,
and Chalk went inside the business. Several minutes later, she said, he ran out of the busi-
ness and said he d robbed the woman of $50. She said she does not believe that Chalk had a
weapon, and she had no idea that Chalk was planning on committing a robbery at the Circle
K. She showed detectives the clothing that Chalk wore during the robbery that matched the
clothing in the surveillance video.
Chalk said that he has a drug problem and was looking to obtain money with which
to purchase crack cocaine. He said Ms. Hodge had not known his intention to rob the store
when she drove him there. Chalk was charged with one count of robbery without a weapon
