made another U-turn at the Williston airport. Maj. Sullivan activated his emer-

up to 75 mph, with Sgt. Wells in pursuit with his emergency lights and siren

of S.R. 121 and Hwy. 41, Sullivan said that Willard brought the Nissan to an
abrupt stop and “shot deputies a bird.” Willard’s right hand was not visible, and deputies
ordered him at gun point to show his hands and get out of the truck. Willard refused to get
out of the truck, “but finally reached out of the driver s window to shoot us the bird with
both hands,” said Sullivan.
Willard is a very large man, according to Sullivan, 6 ft. 2 inches tall and 300 lbs.,

was finally restrained with two pairs of handcuffs and charged with fleeing and attempting

ing to the LCSO.
