Our most valu-
able resource is water; the
middle east and Africa
have contended with the
problem of water supply
for centuries but America
is just beginning to see the
effects of squandering this
resource. While living aboard a sailboat
in the Caribbean which is beautiful but
basically arid, the reality of not having an
endless supply of fresh water was harsh
and gave me a whole new perspective on
water usage.  We each used one gallon
to shower, washed our dishes in salt wa-
ter and rinsed them in fresh and panicked
when our capacity of 60 gallons became
low. One of my family members was a
