A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
A Guest Commentary by Yankeetown Mayor Dawn Clary
SIONERS, LEVY COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO CHANGE THE
COUNTY COMM|SSIONER’S DISTRICT BOUNDARIES.
WHEREAS, by virtue of Florida Constitution, Article VIII, Section 1(e), and Section 124.01
, Florida Statutes, in the odd-numbered year after each decennial Census the Board of Levy
County is to divide the County into county commissioners’ districts of contiguous territory
as nearly equal in population as practicable, and fix the new boundaries of these County
Commissioners’ Districts; and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that it is necessary to change the boundaries of the
County Commissioners’ Districts to meet the objectives of the Florida Constitution and
Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, the Board considered a proposed option for redistricting in a public meeting
December 6, 2011, and finalized the new boundaries for County Commissioners’ Districts
in a public meeting on December 20, 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS, LEVY COUNTY, FLORIDA, THAT:
1. From and after the effective date of this Resolution, the existing County Commissioners’
Districts shall be and are abolished and repealed.
2. The Board has divided the County into five (5) new County Commissioners’
Districts of contiguous territory as nearly equal in population as practicable, and has estab-
lished them by accurate description of the changed boundaries of such Districts, as set forth
in the map attached as Exhibit “A” and incorporated herein by this reference.
3. Exhibit “A,” the map constituting descriptions of the boundaries of the County Commis-
sioners’ Districts, shall be entered upon the minutes of this Board.
4. A certified copy of Exhibit “A” constituting the descriptions of the boundaries of such
Districts, shall be published once each week for two (2) consecutive weeks (two publica-
tions being sufficient) in a newspaper published in Levy County. Proof of such publication
shall be entered upon the minutes ofthe Board.
5. The Clerk of Circuit Court and Ex Officio Clerk to the Board shall forthwith furnish this
NATURE COAST WATER, INC.
Resolution to the Department of State with a certified copy of this Board’s minutes reflecting
the description of the boundaries of the Districts as changed.
