Bark N Purr Benefit for Humane Society

The Humane Society of Levy County invites all barbecue cooks to participate in
the 2nd Annual Bark-N-Purr Charity BBO Cook-Off sponsored by the Florida BBQ Asso-
ciation on Saturday, February 28 at the Bronson Youth League Park.
Cooking teams may choose to cook any or all of the following four categories:
chicken, ribs, pork or brisket. The first prize winner will receive $300 and a trophy; the
second prize winner will receive $200 and a trophy and the third prize winner will receive
$100 and a trophy.
The final deadline to participate in the Cook-Off is January 23 and entry forms are
available from the Humane Society of Levy County. The rules and regulations of the BBQ
Cook-Off can be found at the Florida BBQ Association website www.flbbq.org. Anyone can
compete in this competition as long as they follow the Florida BBQ Guidelines.
This yearís BBQ Cook-Off will include free public samples tasting and you also
will get to enjoy a close-up look at the cook-off teams as seen on television shows like the
Food Network.
Exhibitors are reminded that the deadline to reserve space for a booth at the Bark-
N-Purr Charity Concert and BBQ Cook-Off is January 23rd. Reservation information is

In addition to a fun lineup of activities starting at Noon, this yearís featured artist is
Nashville recording star CRAG MORGAN. Advance admission prices: General $25; VIP
$35; Child 4 to 10 years $6; and under 4 Free. At the gate on the day of the concert: General
$35 and VIP $45; children the same. Your ticket will give you unlimited access throughout
the day and admission to the Crag Morgan Concert.
